What we do
We are a mobile detailing operation covering Cairns and the northern beaches. The work splits into four things: full details that take a car back to its best inside and out, ceramic coating for long-term paint protection, paint correction to machine out swirls and oxidation, and ongoing maintenance work for people who want the car kept that way.
Because we are fully mobile, the job happens where the car already is. That matters more than it sounds - most people put detailing off because dropping a car somewhere for a day is inconvenient, not because they do not want it done.
Why cars in Cairns need different care
Detailing advice written for Melbourne does not transfer well up here. Three things make the tropics harder on a vehicle.
Humidity and interior mould. A car parked up for a fortnight in February will grow mould on the seatbelts and in the vents. It is the single most common interior job we do, and it needs extraction and treatment rather than a wipe-over.
Salt air. Anywhere near the coast - Trinity Beach, Palm Cove, Yorkeys Knob - salt settles on paint and accelerates oxidation, and it collects in door shuts and underbody seams where washing never reaches.
UV and the wet. Far North UV fades paint and perishes trim faster than southern sun, and wet season rain carries enough grit to leave a film that dries on. Cars in the cane country around Edmonton and Gordonvale also cop fine dust through harvest.
None of that is a reason to panic about your car. It is a reason to treat protection as maintenance rather than a one-off.

Do you come to me, or do I drop the car off?
We come to you. The van carries its own power and water, so we can work at your home or your workplace anywhere in Cairns without needing a tap or a power point. All we need is enough room to open the doors and walk around the car.
How much does car detailing cost in Cairns?
It depends on the size of the vehicle and what condition it is in - a well-kept sedan and a family 4WD that has done three wet seasons are different jobs. We quote before starting, not after. There are indicative price bands on our prices page.
How long does a full detail take?
A full interior and exterior detail on a mid-size car is usually three to five hours. Paint correction takes longer, often a full day, because machine polishing cannot be rushed without risking the clear coat.
Can you get rid of mould in the interior?
Usually, yes. Mould on seats, belts and vents is one of the most common jobs we get in Cairns because of the humidity. It needs proper extraction and treatment rather than wiping over, and badly affected cars sometimes need a second visit.
Is ceramic coating worth it in the tropics?
It earns its keep here more than most places. Cairns combines high UV, salt air near the coast and heavy wet-season rain, all of which attack paint. A coating makes washing easier and slows oxidation, though it is not a force field - it does not stop stone chips or scratches.
